On-Page SEO

By optimising each page of your website you let the search engines know what each page is about which results in a higher ranking in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs)

Letting the search engines know

On-Page SEO

On-page search engine optimisation (SEO) ensures the content on each page (both the copy, images and the backend) to make it as visible as possible.

You want to make it easy for  search engines to understand the what each page is about so it can show the correct page in the relevant search queries.

It starts with keyword research, so you know what to write about and optimise for.

The minimum to be done

To keep Google happy

If your website has not been indexed by Google (their ‘bots’ come and visit your site to understand what your business does. When your business is first created you need to remember to request Google and other search engines to come and visit your site. It is important that everything is search engine friendly when they arrive.

If you keep adding new optimised content to your website the search engines will keep returning and will grow to love your site and will rank it and related digital assets higher.

There is an easy way to see how many pages on your website (or your local competitors) Google has indexed. Go to Google search and enter site:yourdomain.com.

You must:

  • Add H1 tags
  • Ensure each page has a minimum of 700 words of copy
  • Create separate pages for each service you offer
  • Add links between each page
  • Add local schema which can then mean you get Gold Stars in the SERPs
